FORT WORTH -- William Kenneth Dodson, retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant, died Monday morning, April 6, 2015. Mr. Dodson was 69 years old. Service: 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel at Robertson Mueller Harper with the Rev. Beth Evers of University United Methodist Church officiating. He will be laid to rest with family members in the Antelope Cemetery in Jack County. Master Sgt. Dodson will receive full military honors at the cemetery. Visitation: Family and friends will gather 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Born in Albuquerque, N.M., on June 17, 1945, Billy was the son of William Woodrow and Mary Catherine Custer Dodson. While he was a child, they moved to Fort Worth where he graduated from R.L. Paschal High School before attending North Texas State College, now the University of North Texas. He was a Boy Scout, basketball player and an avid bowler, even into adulthood. In 1965, he joined the U.S. Air Force. He was a master communications electronics technician with top secret clearance, serving in Vietnam and both Gulf wars. Master Sgt. Dodson retired from the Air Force in 1991 and returned to Fort Worth where he worked as a computer technician with the Fort Worth ISD until 2004. Along with his family, Billy was a member of University United Methodist Church. He loved to tinker with computers and radios and enjoyed woodworking and building furniture. He received the love for wishing from his father and relished the company of his granddaughters. Survivors: In addition to his wife of 34 years, Christina Colbo Villaraza Dodson, Billy is survived by his daughter, Sheryle Crystal Gillihan and her husband, Michael Glenn; granddaughters, Sarah Miquela and Christina Allison Gillihan; sister, Mary Karen Dodson Greene; and niece and nephew, Leah Kelly Greene and Ryan William Greene.
