FORT WORTH -- William Clay Cummins, 81, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, Sept. 5, 2016. Memorial service: 3:30 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 1000 Penn Street, 76102. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 2630 W. Freeway, Suite 100, Fort Worth, TX 76102, in his memory, is suggested. Born Dec. 17, 1934, in Fort Worth, Clay was the son of E.C. and Lorene Baird Cummins. He graduated from R. L. Paschal High School before receiving a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Texas Tech. While at Tech, he joined Kappa Sigma fraternity and was a varsity cheerleader. Following college, he served in the U.S. Army. Clay loved his wife and children and the outdoors. He was an avid skier, hiker, fly fisherman, golfer, and pilot. His family trips included many backpacking and skiing experiences in Colorado and numerous trips to northern British Columbia (B.C.) and Bear River Lodge. These many summer trips to fish in Northern B.C. were his joy and entertaining customers was one of his many passions. He was CEO of Cummins Supply Company, Cummins Lighting Center and Cummins Utility Supply. Clay served on numerous boards including West Texas chapter of Young Presidents' Organization (Chairman), West Texas Section Illuminating Engineering Society (past President), Mrs. Baird's Bakeries, Inc (Advisory Director) and Texas Commerce Bank Fort Worth (Director). Survivors: In addition to his wife of 40 years, Kathie Aurin Cummins, Clay is survived by his children, Susie and her husband, Craig, Laurin, Les and Allen; and sister, Margie Reynolds and her family.
