Fort Worth, Texas - Walterann Eckert McQuatters claimed the promises of her baptism Thursday evening, May 9.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 10 am Wednesday, May 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3621 Tulsa Way.
Born in Fort Worth on July 21, Walterann was the daughter of Walter Denva Eckert. She received her unusual name because her father was serving overseas when she was born. The family joined Trinity Lutheran Church in 1947 and were members there for many years until Walter was transferred to Abilene Tx. After her marriage to Frank McQuatters, they subsequently lived first in Fort Worth where they had two sons and then in Amarillo Tx. Walterann was excited to rejoin Trinity in 2021 when she moved back to Fort Worth after the death of her husband of fifty years.
Walterann worked at the Trinity Children’s Center during the early Fort Worth years. She retired from James Avery Craftsman Jewelry after thirty years serving as manager of different stores in many cities. Her employees loved her.
She is survived by sons and their wives, Timothy F. McQuatters and Anne, and Chuck W. McQuatters and Melissa; granddaughter, Katia McQuatters and three great-grandsons; and her sister, Sharon Vick.
