SHERMAN -- Vivian Kathleen Ragsdale Hamilton went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday afternoon, March 12, 2016. Mrs. Hamilton was 101 years young. Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth, with the Rev. Denise Odom of Covenant Presbyterian Church of Sherman officiating. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to Covenant Presbyterian Church, Sherman, or Cook Children's Medical Center, Fort Worth, in her memory, is suggested. Born Nov. 5, 1914 in San Angelo, Vivian was the youngest of nine children born to Jesse Hugh and Cordeliaa Springer Ragsdale. Vivian attended business college in Austin and worked as an administrative assistant to attorneys. While in Austin, she married Maj. Jack Rufus Hamilton Jr., of Altus, Okla. on Feb. 28, 1943. They were married for 49 years before Jack's death on Dec. 12, 1992. While in Fort Worth, they were active members of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and many friends. Vivian moved from Fort Worth to Norman, Okla. to live with her niece Joyce Whitlock; they relocated to Sherman in 1999. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sherman. Her life was enriched with family, friends and caregivers. Survivors: She will be missed by her niece, Billie White; great-nieces and great-nephews, in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona and New Mexico; and special friends and caregivers, Don and Beth Williams and Faye and Jim Dicks.
