FORT WORTH -- Victor Arnold Anderson left his earthly life during his 98th year on Tuesday evening, May 21, 2013, to join Gladys, his beloved wife of 54 years. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3621 Tulsa Way. Family and friends will be received in the church's Fellowship Hall immediately after the service. Memorials: Consideration of contributions to the Trinity Lutheran Church Children's Center, in his memory, is suggested. Born Aug. 21, 1914, in Milwaukee, Wis., Vic attended school and enlisted in the U.S. Army-Air Corps in 1942. A veteran of World War II, he served in China-Burma-India and the Asiatic Pacific. Commissioned as a first lieutenant AC, he proudly served his country until 1946. In 1951, by order of the President, he was promoted to Captain, USAF Reserve. Vic worked for the Milwaukee Saddlery Co. as a purchasing agent until relocating his family to Texas in 1958. He and his family joined Trinity Lutheran Church, where Vic and Gladys sang in the choir and fully participated in the life of the church. He was a man of faith and continued to spread the word of the Lord late in his life, founding Soul Prospectors for Christ at age 85. Under the pen name Vittorio Arnoldo, Victor designed and manufactured a beautiful Christian bolo tie, still worn by many Trinity parishioners. He retired from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where he worked as a sales representative for many years. His true avocation and love, however, was architecture. He designed and contracted two of the homes his family occupied over the years, one in the White Settlement countryside, the other overlooking Lake Worth. Vic lived most of his adult life in Fort Worth, but his final months were spent living comfortably at the Home Style Care - Keller group home. He was a man of strong convictions, a Christian and a devoted family man, who will be greatly missed. Survivors: In addition to his daughters, Maloa McRay and husband, Steve, Kathleen Myers and husband, Phillip, and Judith Greathouse, Vic is survived by his son, Michael Anderson; grandchildren, Lauren and Christopher McRay and wife, Jayla, and Jason, Carl and Brian Myers and his wife, Sandy; great-grandchildren, Truman and Amelie McRay and Zain, Emma Grace, Mackenzie, Kaitlyn and Gregory Myers; and sister, Dolores Schruba.
