Fort Worth, Texas – Terry Carl Telger, 75, died early Wednesday morning, October 16, 2024, at Community Hospice in Burleson. He was born on Wednesday, October 5, 1949, in Dallas, the son of Carl S. and Doris Davis Telger.
Terry lived in Fort Worth and graduated from Paschal HS, class of 1967. Following graduation, he entered TCU and studied German and Russian. He graduated from TCU in 1971 and entered the U.S. Army on January 10, 1972 and was honorably discharged with a service-connected disability on June 2, 1972. After the army he studied translation and interpretation at the Monterey Institute of Foreign Studies, Monterey, CA, and began his career as a translator of the German and Russian languages.
Terry met his wife, Kathy, in Monterey and they settled in Marina, CA, for nine years. They had their daughter, Katie, Thanksgiving Day 1981. Then in 1984, they moved to Fort Worth, TX to continue his career as a translator of medical textbooks. They celebrated 49 years of marriage on August 23, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In addition to his wife Terry is survived by daughter, Katie Soule, and her husband, Charlie, and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
Family and friends will gather from 11 am to 12 pm Thursday, October 24, at Harper & Lucas, formerly ROBERTSON MUELLER HARPER, with a Celebration of HIs Life to begin at 12 pm.
