SUSAN PEARCE

FORT WORTH -- Susan Gail Doty Pearce, a loving wife and wonderful friend with a heart of gold, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, Dec. 8, 2012, during her 61st year. Service: A celebration of Susan's life will be held at noon Wednesday in the sanctuary of Broadway Baptist Church, 305 W. Broadway Ave., with the Rev. Jorene Swift officiating. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to Covenant Care, 3221 Collingsworth St., Suite 160, Fort Worth, Texas 76107, in her memory, is suggested. A native of Fort Worth, Susan was born Aug. 11, 1951, the daughter of Bob and Peggy Doty. She was a graduate of R.L. Paschal High School. In 1972, she married Phillip W. Pearce. Susan was the owner of Bluebonnet Travel. With a passion for travel, she often arranged travel plans for clients who became close, personal friends. She and her husband, Phil, were avid sailors, actually winning several regattas including Regata del Sol al Sol from St. Petersburg, Fla., to Isla Mujeres, Mexico, with their dearest friends, Pat and her late husband, Charley Poellet. All who knew and loved Susan would enjoy listening as she shared adventures of the sea. She was a selfless, caring person who always put others needs ahead of her own. Her positive attitude and strength were inspirations to many. She was preceded in death by her son, Lee Anderson Pearce, and her father, Bob Doty. Survivors: In addition to her husband of 40 years, Phil, Susan's memory will be cherished forever by her mother, Peggy Doty; brothers, Rich Doty and his wife, Beth, and Scott Doty: nephews, Trey and Brett Doty; godchildren, London Campbell-Isel, Howard Pearce Campbell and Christophe Jean Chaumont; and her beloved dogs, Scruffy and Scooter.
