Mr. RUSSELL KENT BARNETT

Russell was born June 14, 1960 in Texas City to Darwin and Louise Barnett. He passed away at his home on May 8, 2015 in Fort Worth. Russ was a 1978 graduate of Texas City High School being a member of the TCHS Marching Band and school choir. After High school Russ traveled with the Gene Williams Evangelistic Association as a member of the Concern Singers, traveling to India and the Philippines’ singing of the grace of Jesus Christ. Russ then completed his Bachelor’s degree at Howard Payne University. He worked numerous years for May Department Stores earning the level of Vice President of Foley’s. Russ later completed is Masters of Business Administration at University of North Texas. For many years Russ was a lifetime member Harley Owners Group and Lone Star Corvette club. He is survived by his long time friend and companion Denise Ho, sister Reda DeVries and husband Tommy, brother Reggie and wife Sabrina, Stepmom Barbara Barnett, nephews and a niece. Russ was a loving brother, uncle and friend to all that knew him. Following Russell’s wishes there will be a small memorial at later date to honor his life.
