Mrs. RUBY ANN ALEXANDER BROYLES

FORT WORTH -- Ruby Ann Alexander Broyles passed away peacefully at her home Saturday morning, Feb. 22, 2014, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Broyles was 88 years old. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Wednesday at Ridglea Christian Church with the Rev. Rob Morris officiating. Ann will be laid to rest privately next to her husband, Milton, in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: Family and friends will gather at the home of her daughter, Melinda Spence, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to Ridglea Christian Church, 6720 W. Elizabeth Lane, Fort Worth, TX 76116 in her memory, is suggested. Born in Fort Worth on Oct. 16, 1925, Ann was the daughter of Edwin A. and Helen Emily Coombes Alexander. She was a graduate of Arlington Heights High School. After completing business college, she worked for an oil company in Dallas. While in Dallas, Ann met the love of her life, Milton Bert Broyles, a young lieutenant in the Army Air Corps. After he received his degree from the University of Texas at Austin, they married on Jan. 30, 1948 and returned to Fort Worth. She and Milton were married for 40 years before his death in 1988. Together, they welcomed their two children, Melinda and Buzzy, and thereafter, she took an active role in every organization her children were involved in. "Bebe" took great pleasure in helping raise her five grandchildren. Ann and Milton were organizers and charter members of Ridglea Christian Church where she taught Sunday School, was a deaconess and served on the building and worship committees. Her favorite duties included Sunday morning flowers and decorating for Christmas and Easter. She adored all children, keeping the baby nursery at church and having many "adopted" children. Ann dearly treasured her friends; their home was always open to her children's friends, church gatherings and business associates. She was a member of the Junior Woman's Club of Fort Worth, the Girls Service League and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, Daryl Spence, and sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and James Muncy. Survivors: In addition to her daughter, Melinda Broyles Spence, Ann is survived by her son, Milton Alan "Buzzy" Broyles and his wife, Sally; Bebe to her grandchildren, Melissa Spence Tapp and her husband, Mike, Audren Alexander Spence and his wife, Rachel, Leigh Kathryn Broyles, Laura Broyles Warnier and her husband, Daniel, Jeffrey Harrison Broyles and his fiancee, Cori Willett; great-grandchildren, Peyton Ann and Michael David Tapp, James Walker and Madeline Ann Spence, Finley Isabelle, Maeve Estelle and Violet Annabelle Warnier; niece, Emily Muncy Rice and her husband, George; and nephews, James Muncy and John Edwin Muncy.
