Fort Worth, Texas -- Richard James “Rick” Harper passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, March 30, 2021, after a short battle with cancer. He had recently turned 52. Born March 14, 1969 in Fort Worth, Rick was the second son of Jeri L Harper Sr. and Anita Louise Holloway Harper. He was in the class of 1988 at Southwest High School. Rick owned a successful landscaping business for many years. He loved working outdoors and hanging out with family and friends; he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rick was preceded in death by his father. Those left to cherish his memory are 2 loving mothers, Anita and Jan Harper, both of Fort Worth; brothers, Lofty Harper; his children, Jake and Victoria, and their mother, Tammy, all of Fort Worth, and Ryan Harper and his wife, Ludo; their children, Lavinia and Hadrian, all of New York City; and several aunts, uncles and cousins and their families. Family and friends are invited to a come and go visitation from 11:00 a.m. until noon Saturday at Robertson Mueller Harper. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, attendance at the service will be limited, but livestreamed at https://video.ibm.com/channel/sFSUaknQDcd, for those unable to attend. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park. Bearers of his casket are Jeffrey Abell, Mitch Adams, Ricky Coomer, David Harper, Elijah “EJ” Hoyt, Darrell Johnston, Scott Mann, Todd Reynolds, Dylan Sanderford and Harold Willet. In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the Harbor Club, harborclubfw.org, in his memory, is suggested.
