FORT WORTH -- Rae Ann Zoblotsky Chenet died peacefully Friday afternoon, April 11, 2014. Mrs. Chenet was 80 years old. Service: 1 p.m. Sunday in the Kornbleet Memorial Cemetery Chapel located in Ahavath Sholom Cemetery, 411 N. University Drive. Cantor Sheri Allen of Congregation Beth Shalom, Arlington, will officiate. Born in Taylor on July 16, 1933, Rae Ann was the daughter of Isadore and Dena Zoblotsky. She graduated from Pitcher High School in 1950 and attended the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in speech therapy. Rae Ann worked for many years in Tulsa, Okla., and New Orleans, La., at one of her family's many shoe stores. While in New Orleans, she and her husband opened a construction company, Chenet Homes. The later sold the business to pursue their love for the open water, leading them to travel the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Islands in their boat. As their adventure came to a close, they decided to settle in Sarasota, Fla., and open a new business, Chenet Staircase & Millworks. Rae Ann loved to travel on cruises, going to the symphony, jazz concerts and the theater. She enjoyed listening to he large collection of classical music. She had the biggest heart for family and friends, especially her dogs, who brought her much joy. She will be missed and fondly remembered by her family and many friends who spanned from California to Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Morris Zoblotsky. Survivors: In addition to her daughters, Sharon Solomon of Metaire, La., Marci McDonald of Las Vegas, Nev., and Debbe Solomon of Fort Worth, Rae Ann is survived by her beloved grandchildren, Mitchell McDonald, Shawn Lee McDonald and Chelsea Solomon; brother, Harry Zoblotsky; and a nephew, Todd Zoblotsky.
