Fort Worth

PEPPER ANN PIERSON passed away April 13 at the age of 70, surrounded by family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20 at Christ Chapel Bible Church, 3701 Birchman Ave., Fort Worth with Dr. Ted Kitchens officiating. There will be a reception immediately following in the atrium next to the chapel (small sanctuary) where the service will be held.

Pepper was born May 1, 1954 in Fort Worth to Donald Robert Pierson and Ann Ellis Pierson. A graduate of Paschal High School, Pepper attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She transferred to the University of Texas where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Radio-Television-Film and was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.

After working in various media based positions, Pepper pursued a second career in sales, focusing on advertising premiums for promotions and merchandising. She also spent a year in Washington D.C. working in the office of Senator Lloyd Bentsen.
Throughout her life, Pepper was engaged in numerous activities that were often an extension of her love for church and family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church Youth Choir as well as the Young Life Christian organization. In later years, she attended Christ Chapel Bible Church.

In her youth, Pepper enjoyed ballet, jazz and tap dancing and was a member of the Bluebirds and Camp Fire Girls programs. She worked a summer season as part of the Six Flags Over Texas entertainment ensemble in addition to working behind-the-scenes with Casa Manana Summer Musicals.

Her high school years took Pepper to Europe with her church choir. As an adult, she travelled to Africa and Guatemala with missionary endeavors. She also made time to serve as leader to a group of Girl Scouts and supplied plants for a fund-raising sale at the John Peter Smith Hospital gift shop. More recently, Pepper was a regular volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Taste Community Restaurant.

Pepper led a life of giving and caring for others. She loved to help people and possessed a great affection for animals and nature. She was also an avid movie fan and reader, deriving much joy from her regular book club gatherings.

She is survived by her sister, Ginger Pierson, brothers, Jim Brian Pierson and Donald Robert Pierson (Helen) and niece, Sarah Clark Pierson Newberry (Robert).
