FORT WORTH -- Francis Patrick Kratch died unexpectedly after suffering a heart attack Monday, August 28, 2017 in New York City while on business. Patrick was one month from his 45th birthday. Service: A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church, 800 W. 5th Street. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the American Red Cross for Victims of Hurricane Harvey in Houston, in his memory, is suggested. Patrick was born Sept. 22, 1972 in Houston. He attended Klein High School and graduated from Baylor University with a B.A. from the Hankamer School of Business. Baseball was one of his passions and he played both high school and college ball. On Feb. 12, 2006, Patrick experienced the happiest day of his life when his daughter, Cayden Bren Kratch was born. Beautiful Cayden looks just like her daddy and we are so proud of her grace and strength; she was the light of his life. In 2009 Patrick started Required Team Gear. It began with a small home office and has grown to a respected international business with an extensive team of devoted employees. During his too-short life, Patrick created one amazing human and with his passion, leadership, vision and will-do work ethic, one successful business from the ground up. These will be his enduring legacies. Patrick worked and played hard. His life was a dizzying mix of crazy business travel and at-home happiness. He traveled frequently and made friends and memories wherever he went. He loved “Vegas” and often said just roll the dice – nothing ventured, nothing gained. He and his daughter spent an envious amount of time at the family home in Treasure Cay, Abaco, Bahamas – his favorite place on earth. Patrick’s other happy place was Colonial Country Club where he loved his golf and golfing buddies. Patrick’s perspective on life essentially was work your butt off to realize your dreams. Be real and truthful. Live with integrity. Stand up for yourself and your loved ones even when it comes at a steep cost. Be fair and honest. Do whatever it takes to “make it happen”. Remember that tomorrow is not guaranteed so make every moment count. He did all that. Aka “Uncle P”, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Frank and Melba Kratch and Jim and Betty Burns. Survivors: In addition to his daughter Cayden and her mother, Christie, Patrick is survived by his golden retriever, Shelby; parents, Frank and Judy Kratch; sister and brother-in-law, Kellye and Mark Neuweiler; nephew and niece, Zach and Keris Neuweiler; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Rest easy. You are in Heaven and we will see you again. Until then we carry you in our hearts and memories.
