Mrs. MERRY ETHEL UNWIN KAASTAD

FORT WORTH -- Merry Ethel Unwin Kaastad of Minot, N.D., entered the kingdom of heaven at her residence Sunday morning, Jan. 31, 2016, surrounded by loved ones. Mrs. Kaastad was 89 years old. Celebration of life: 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, at her residence. Memorials: Those who wish may send flowers to the residence or make contributions to the Salvation Army or The Tarrant Area Food Bank, in her memory. Tootie, as she was known to family and friends, was the daughter of Alfred and May Parsons Unwin. She met and married Morris Kaastad before moving to Fort Worth where Morris built and operated E.O. Wood Co., Inc., a successful commercial manufacturing company. In 1988, Merry acquired the company and continued to run the business successfully until the day she passed. She enjoyed witty and fun conversation with her family, friends and co-workers. She was a longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Survivors: Merry is survived by her sons, Tim, Todd and Rolf.
