With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Suzanne Wyatt, aged 90, on November 23rd in Fort Worth, Texas. Born Mary Suzanne Morton on February 9, 1934, in Elk Falls, Kansas, Suzanne was the beloved daughter of Raymond G. Morton and Grace Morton.
Suzanne met and married her beloved Gerald Ayres Wyatt in Memphis, Tennessee, where they began a life together filled with love, devotion, and service. Gerald was a dedicated member of the Moslah Shrine, and Suzanne played a vital role by organizing Shrine parties, fundraising events, and providing unwavering support for the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Her commitment to helping the children of the Shriners reflected her generous heart and dedication to making a difference in her community.
After relocating to Texas in 1968, Suzanne continued to support Gerald's work with the Shriners while also starting her insurance business “Ag Related Services”. In 1977, She began a long and successful career in insurance with the Farm Credit System, dedicating over 54 years to the industry, a business known for its service-oriented approach. Suzanne balanced her work, family, and community with grace, and she was known for her warm personality, often lighting up the room with her beloved blonde jokes.
Very active in Central Christian Church, she was an Elder and served as chairman of the board of directors. She was also on the original board to construct the Christian Arts Museum which houses the life-sized wax display of the Last Supper of which she was extremely proud to be a part of.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, and her three brothers, John Morton, Richard Morton, and Roscoe Morton.
In addition to her loving children, Melanee Suzanne Posey and her husband, Terry and Gerald Ayres “Jerry” Wyatt Jr. and his wife, Christian, Suzanne is survived by her adored grandchildren, Charles (CJ) Wyatt, Grace LeeAnn Storms and her husband, Nick, and Zachary Ayres Wyatt; and her precious great-grandchildren, Odin Coleson Storms and Raiden Storms.
Her life was a testament to love, service, and kindness, and she leaves behind a legacy that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Family and friends will gather from 5 to 7 pm Monday, December 2, in the Great Room at Harper & Lucas, formerly ROBERTSON MUELLER HARPER.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 11 am Tuesday, December 3, at Central Christian Church 3205 Hamilton Ave, Fort Worth, with interment or follow in Greenwood Memorial Park
Bearers of her casket are James King, Moe Rahmeh, Phil Trew, David Dodgen, Richard Luke and Kenny Beck.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Central Christian Church, 3205 Hamilton Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76107, 817-335-1520 or to Shriners Children's Texas at www.lovetotherescue.org., in her memory, is suggested.
