MARY KATHERINE BRANAN ALTARAS

Fort Worth, Texas - Katherine Altaras was frequently found outside at her home tending her garden. She delighted in her grandchildren and family gatherings.  She baked terrific pies and corn soufflés.  Her chicken and dumplings and corn bread dressing were unparalleled.

Katherine was married to Francis E. Altaras, D.D.S.  She herself was a dental hygienist; together they provided dental care for fifty years.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years.

In addition to her children, Kent and Karen Altaras, Nancy Altaras, Kamille and Scott Kemble, Katherine is survived by her grandchildren, Melissa and Sam Fulcher, Matthew and Allison Altaras, John Scott and Elodie Kemble, and Ned Kemble. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Emma Kate, Lucy and Henry Fulcher, Tess and Ruth Altaras, and Margaux Kemble; as well as niece and nephew, Dian Gilmore and David Gilmore.

The family will have a private graveside service.
