MARY GRIFFIN

FORT WORTH -- Mary Ann Griffin, 97, passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013.        Graveside service: 11 a.m. Monday in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: Family and friends will gather 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the Great Room at Robertson Mueller Harper Funeral Directors.        Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials are requested to Meals on Wheels.        Mary Ann, the daughter of William and Winifred Penick Ives, was born Dec. 7, 1915, in Fort Worth. She graduated salutatorian from Central (Paschal) High School. She married Ernest Granville Griffin in 1936 and together they had three sons. Mary Ann was the matriarch of the Griffin family and met family and friends with a twinkle in her eye. She loved baking for family gatherings.        She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, William Bunnie Griffin; sisters, Ruth Bennett and husband, Paul, Reva Sproles and husband, Sam; brother, Paul Ives; brother-in-law, Buster Nelson; daughters-in-law, Judy Griffin, Jeannie Griffin.        Survivors: Sons, David Griffin and wife, Sandi, Mike Griffin and wife, Elizabeth; grandchildren, LeAnn Griffin and partner, Kathy Davis, Lynn Spurgin and husband, Eddy, Deanna Lee Bublik; great-grandchildren, Brandon Spurgin and Becca Bair, Jae Lauren Luzunaris and husband, Juan, Caitlyn Spurgin, Mary Claire Griffin, Tobin Scott Griffin, Griffin Bublik, Michael Bublik; sister, Vivian Nelson.
