Mrs. MARTHA JANE FISCHER TURK

FORT WORTH -- Martha Jane Turk, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully Monday morning, July 21, 2014. She was 83 years old. Service: 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, at the graveside in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Born Dec. 13, 1930, in Holliday, Texas, Martha was the daughter of Albert and Maria Fischer. After moving from Abilene in 1960, she raised her family of three children in Fort Worth. She was happily married to Robert Turk from 1979 until 1988. Martha worked for Moncrief Oil, Houston General Life Insurance and Sam's Club. She was a 60-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a gifted cook and loved to read. Martha, the youngest of 10 children, was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Vikki Lenor Hoffman; husband, Robert Turk; and eight of her brothers and sisters, Albert Fischer Jr., Mary Everett, Christine Lilly, Bertha Garrett, Robert Fischer, Edna Mae Stephenson, Clarence Fischer and Margaret Hall. Survivors: In addition to her children, Deborah Jo Van, John Albert Van and his wife, Sarah, and stepdaughter, Pam Turk, Martha is survived by her grandchildren, Jacob Albert Van, Megan Mullikin, Matthew Mullikin, Ashley Hoffman and Mike Hoffman; great-grandchild, Ruby Hoffman; sister, Katherine Spearman; and nieces and nephews and their families.
