FORT WORTH -- Marion Kathryn Seymer Snyder, 97, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family, friends and caregivers Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at University Christian Church. Private interment in Greenwood Memorial Park. Born in Wauwatosa, Wis., in 1918, Marion moved to Fort Worth in 1948, shortly after serving as Army librarian at Indiantown Gap, Pa., for most of World War II. A member of University Christian Church for over 65 years, Marion served church and community wholeheartedly for her entire life, until unable to venture out. Among her activities were League of Women Voters, Easter Seal Society, Fort Worth Symphony Association, Van Cliburn Association, Arts Council, Fort Worth Council for Children with Learning Disabilities, Fort Worth Woman's Club, Fort Worth Woman's Shakespeare Club, University Place Book Club, Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, TCU Faculty Woman's Club, English Speaking Union, Friends of Fort Worth Library and Jewish Women's Book Fair. She held office in many groups and was president of several. In 1969, she and her husband, Karl, began their travels oversees at which time her involvement became more as a supporting member than a leader. Preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Dr. Karl E. Snyder, Marion continued her memory-filled life for another 18 years. She will be sorely missed by all who knew, traveled or served with her. Her family would like to thank Pam, Jane and others from Comfort Keepers and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care. Surrounded by all who passed before her, she is now resting in peace in the hands of our Lord, rewarded for her steadfast goodness. Survivors: Marion is survived by her son, Frederick L. Snyder.
