Mrs. MARIANN WILSON LYON

FORT WORTH -- Mariann Wilson Lyon, a loving daughter, wife, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed way peacefully Tuesday evening, March 15, 2016. Mrs. Lyon was 82 years old. Service: 3 p.m. Saturday in the Mausoleum at Greenwood Memorial Park with the Rt. Rev. Sam B. Hulsey officiating. Family and friends will gather from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Great Room at Robertson Mueller Harper. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to a charity of choice, in her memory, is suggested. Born Jan. 6, 1934, in Fort Worth, Mariann was the daughter of B. Harold and Marian Hunt Wilson. She attended Sweet Briar College before graduating from the University of Texas at Austin. Marian was a lifelong member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity and served in several national capacities as well as adviser to the TCU chapter for many years. She was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Fort Worth. In 1962, Mariann married David K. Lyon; together they lived and traveled, meeting new friends, from Australia to Washington, D.C. They retired to Fort Worth to enjoy life with friends and family. Marian also supported a variety of community activities and organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors: In addition to her stepson and his wife, Robert S. "Bob" Lyon and Tricia, Mariann is survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
