Lillian Fendler Savitz Lillian Fendler Savitz FORT WORTH -- Lillian Fendler Savitz, a Fort Worth resident for 60 years, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, May 6, 2015. Mrs. Savitz died one day before her 94th birthday. Service: 11 a.m. Friday in the Kornbleet Memorial Chapel located in Ahavath Sholom Cemetery, 411 N. University Drive. Rabbi Andrew Bloom and Cantor Shoshana Abrams Kaikov will officiate. Following committal prayers, she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Bob. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to Congregation Ahavath Sholom or a charity of choice, in her memory, is suggested. Born May 7, 1921 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Lillian was the second of five children of the late Bessie and Harry Fendler. In 1944, she married Robert "Bob" Abraham Savitz. Lillian, Bob and their young twin sons moved to Fort Worth in 1955. She worked in counseling at Texas Christian University for 21 years until retiring in 1985. Lillian then worked as a volunteer at All Saints Hospital for several years and received recognition and awards for her thousands of hours of service. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who loved her family more than anything. Everyone adored her. She never had a bad word to say about anyone and was always optimistic, even in her last days. Being famous for her Savitz sandwiches, her usual words were, "Can I fix you something to eat?" She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and two sisters. Survivors: In addition to her twin sons and their wives, Rick and Karen Savitz and Ron and Leslie Savitz, Lillian is survived by her grandchildren, Toby and Jason Jones, Danny and Melanie Savitz, Lee and Karyn Labovitz, Todd and Holly Labovitz and Shana Savitz; five great-grandchildren; sister, Edye Danoff; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and their families.
