Lee Anspacher was born on August 12, 1942, in Los Angeles, California. He attended elementary school in Beverly Hills and high school at Wilbraham Academy in Springfield, MA. Upon graduation, he returned to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California, where he received a degree in History.
Lee was a true Trojan who bled cardinal and gold. He loved tailgating and attending football games religiously at the Los Angeles Coliseum. He was very involved in the Conejo Valley Trojan Alumni Club and even became president at one point. There were very few days where you would not see Lee in a USC t-shirt.
Lee spent three years in the United States Army, stationed in Germany. He served in the Medical Service Corps in Bad Hersfield and Munich. Many lifelong friends were made during those years.
When Lee returned to California, he tirelessly committed himself to teaching government, economics, and US History, as well as coaching football at Sylmar High School. Lee was just as dedicated to Sylmar High School as he was to USC.
Lee was father of Mariam (Jeremy) Ochsenbein and Cori (Jason) Smith. He was also grandfather to Cooper, Quinn, Beckett Ochsenbein, and Ellis Smith. He will also be remembered by his wife of 57 years, Felice Anspacher.
Lee passed on Tuesday, June 18th, in Keller, Texas at the age of 81. He fought a valiant battle with Parkinson’s Disease for 18 years.
There will be a Celebration of Life in both Fort Worth and Los Angeles. Donations in his name may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
