Ms. LAURIE ELLEN CARPENTER SHEPPERSON

FORT WORTH – Laurie Ellen Carpenter Shepperson passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 30, 2020. Laurie was 69. SERVICE: Friends are invited to join the family at 10 a.m. Friday for a service at the grave in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Born in Fort Worth on January 2, 1951, Laurie was the daughter of James Ralph “Bud” and Leta Maye Oudkirk Carpenter. The family lived in Fort Worth for most of their lives, but had a small stint in Hammond, Louisiana before moving back to Fort Worth. Laurie graduated from R. L. Paschal High School before attending Texas Christian University and then graduating from the University of Texas in Austin. Laurie moved to Arlington with Johnny, her son, where she was an 8th grade math teacher. She was a loving mother, and devoted grandmother to her 3 granddaughters, and amazing daughter to her mother, Leta. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Carrie Diane Carpenter, who died in 1967. SURVIVORS: In addition to her son, Johnny and his wife, Sarah, Laurie is survived by her granddaughters, Ashton (17), Reese (14) and Tatum (10).
