Tahlequah, Oklahoma - Laura Lee Bernstein Cohen passed away peacefully on December 25. She was 83. Following a Service at the Grave on Thursday, December 30, in Ahavath Sholom Cemetery, she was laid to rest next to her husband, Abe. Born in the Brooklyn Borough of New York City, Lee was the daughter of Samuel and Minnie Saikin Bernstein. She graduated from R. L. Paschal High School, and married Abraham "Abe" Cohen, who died in 2012. An active member of Congregation Ahavath Sholom, Lee appreciated the opportunity to work on the archive committee and was proud to have founded the Lila Tov Chapter of the B'nai B'rith Women's Organization. Lee enjoyed travel, particularly cruises, mahjong, and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brother, Leonard. In addition to her son Jeff and his wife, Patti, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Lee is survived by her granddaughter, Katie Cohen of New York City; niece, Shelley Apt and her husband, Ryan of Tulsa, Oklahoma; niece and nephew, Joyce and Mark Abramowitz of Fort Worth; close friend, Sharon Huber of Weatherford; numerous cousins and their families; and her beloved cat, Indigo. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, www.komen.org, or Congregation Ahavath Sholom, 4050 S.
