FORT WORTH -- Larry Goodwin, longtime resident of Fort Worth, passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at the age of 87. Service: 2 p.m. Monday in Ahavath Sholom Cemetery, 411 N. University Drive, with Rabbi Andrew Bloom and Cantor Shoshana Abrams Kaikov officiating. Memorials: Larry's memory may be honored with contributions to a charity of your choice. Larry was an icon in the shoe industry as the owner of Larry's Shoes beginning with his first men's shoe store in downtown Fort Worth in 1949. Described as "one in a million," his handshakes, jokes, generosity, and positive outlook on life will be greatly missed by his many friends and family. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Shirley, Larry is survived by his children, Laurie Bartlett and her husband, David, Debbie Cooper and Elliot Goodwin; grandchildren, Mikey Abrams, Brian Abrams, Melanie Cooper, Ken Cooper and his wife, Jill, Myles Goodwin and his wife, Sara, Parker Goodwin, Jordan Goodwin and Zoe Goodwin; and great-grandson, Braydon Welch.
