FORT WORTH -- LaBelle Plumlee Lewellen died peacefully Monday, May 25, 2015. Mrs. Lewellen was 95 years old. Service: 4 p.m. Wednesday in Springtown Cemetery. Friends and family will gather 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Great Room at Robertson Mueller Harper. Born in Springtown on Oct. 18, 1920, LaBelle was the daughter of Anna and Hershel Plumlee. She graduated from high school in Springtown in 1937 and was a member of Springtown United Methodist Church where she and her mother were very active in the music program. Labelle attended Weatherford College and later received her B.A. in arts from Texas Wesleyan College. She taught school for 43 years in the Diamond Hills schools. She was married to Harold Lewellen, who preceded her in death. Her hobbies included writing poetry, music, gardening, cooking, traveling and flying with her husband on trips in his plane. Survivors: LaBelle is survived by her nephews, Gary Joe Plumlee of Granbury, Justin Blevins of Keller and Ralph Sturgeon of Dallas and their families.
