El Paso

El Paso, Texas - Julianne "Judy" Jopling (née Ryan) passed away peacefully at the age of 90. Born in Fort Worth, TX, she lived a full and loving life surrounded by her family and friends.

Judy foxtrotted, jitterbugged, sang, traveled, smiled and charmed her way through the last half of the 20th Century and beyond. She rode shotgun with her husband Joe of 64 years as they raised two baby boomers together. She filled her children's lives with regular home-cooked meals (like clockwork), hand-sewn clothing, parties, magical holidays and family vacations. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Judy supported Joe in his endeavors and in addition to her domestic responsibilities, maintained a glamour that rivaled any Hollywood actress. You would have seen Judy if you played tennis anywhere on the west side. She also loved to entertain, play bridge, and devour books. She served as a docent at the Fort Worth Japanese Garden, played in bell choir at Arlington Heights United Methodist Church, and loved her community. She won the hearts of many friends, whom she cherished and spoke fondly of, up to her final days. Her family will remember her for her strength, kindness, loyalty and sweet nature.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Jenny Jopling; son, Jim Jopling and his wife, Claire; grandsons, Reese and Tyler Morgan, Clay and Owen Jopling; as well as her great-grandchildren, Claire and River Morgan. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Joe Jopling.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Friday, July 19, in the Great Room at Harper & Lucas, formerly Robertson Mueller Harper, 1500 Eighth Avenue, Fort Worth. A Service at the Grave will be held at 10 am Saturday, July 20, in Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Grand Avenue, Fort Worth.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Fort Worth Botanic Garden (designate Japanese Garden) in memory of Judy. Her spirit and legacy will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
