FORT WORTH – Jovita Saenz Trujillo went to meet our Lord Saturday morning, March 10, 2018, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Trujillo’s 100th birthday was February 15. SERVICE: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 3314 Dryden Road. Following committal prayers, she will be laid to rest with her husband and daughter in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Robertson Mueller Harper with a recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Born in Chihuahua, Mexico, Jovita was the daughter of Jesus and Sofia Vargas Saenz. After moving to Fort Worth, at an early age, she remained a lifelong resident. She was an avid Texas Rangers fan and was known for her delicious flour tortillas. Jovita was a self-employed hair stylist, running her own salon for 57 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pedro Trujillo; daughter, Alicia Barron; 3 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. SURVIVORS: In addition to her children, Rosemary Lopez, Raymond Trujillo and his wife, Cora, and Margaret Gutierrez and her husband, Gilbert, Jovita is survived by 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren.
