FORT WORTH -- The Rev. Joseph Robert Durway died peacefully Sunday morning, June 28, 2015 at his home. Rev. Durway was 89 years old. Memorial Service: A Witness to the Resurrection for Rev. Durway will be held at 11 am Thursday at St. Stephen Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Frederick Fields "Fritz" Ritsch III officiating. He will be laid to rest privately with his parents in Greenwood Memorial Park. Memorials: Consideration of contributions to St. Stephen Presbyterian Churuch, 2700 McPherson Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76109, honoring his memory, is suggested. Born in Fort Worth on July 7, 1925, Robert was the son of Malcolm Robert and Catherine Bolin Durway. He was graduated summa cum laude from R.L. Paschal High School before attending and graduating from the University of Texas in Austin, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Robert also graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and attained a Master's of Systematic Theology from Austin Seminary. An ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church USA, Robert served churches in Eagle Lake, Sulphur, Louisiana, West End Collegiate Church, New York City, Congers, New York, and Wildwood, New Jersey. After retiring he returned to Fort Worth to take care of his parents. The family wishes to express grateful appreciation to Dr. Alan Kelly, ResCare, and Paula Wilhelm for their care and kindnesses for Robert. He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Malcolm Bolin Durway. Survivors: In addition to his brother Daniel Lindsey Durway and his wife, Flo of Raleigh, NC, Robert is survived by his nephews, Daniel Mark Durway and his wife, Julie of Cary, NC and Lindsey Bolin Durway and his wife, Andrea of St. Louis, MO; niece, Kristin Durway Whitesides and her husband, Greg of Villa Grove, CO; two great nephews and three great nieces; and his sister-in-law, Betty Durway, of Cape Coral, FL.
