FORT WORTH -- Joseph Raymond Detrick passed away peacefully at home Friday afternoon, March 11, 2016. Mr. Detrick was 84 years old. Service: Military honors will be given at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. He will lie in state at Robertson Mueller Harper on Monday where family and friends gather in the Great Room from 5 to 7 p.m. Born March 19, 1931, in Garrett, Ind., Joe was the son of Frank C. and Margaret Blake Detrick. He graduated from Westworth Military Academy in Lexington, Mo., before attending Oklahoma A&M and Arlington State College, now the University of Texas at Arlington. Joe served in the U.S. Air Force and with his wife, Linda, owned Trophy, Etc. in Fort Worth since 1978. He was a member of Southpark Baptist Church and enjoyed performing magic. Survivors: In addition to his wife of 39 years, Linda, Joe is survived by his sons, Michael and Steve of Fort Worth, John and his wife, Elizabeth, of Taberg, N.Y., and daughter, Sheila and her husband, Lt. Col. Ken Williams, of San Antonio; 15 grandchildren; and one "very special" great-granddaughter.
