Fort Worth, Texas - Jimmy Dale VanWinkle, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, January 1. He was 87. Following a private Celebration of His Life in the Chapel at Robertson Mueller Harper on Friday, January 7, Jim was laid to rest in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Born in Bradford, Arkansas, Jim was the son of Herschel and Jessie Irene Shane VanWinkle. He was a barber at Fox & VanWinkle Barber Shop for 40 years. Known for his kind spirit, warm smile and his devotion to family and friends, Jim loved woodworking, fishing, gardening, baseball and playing bridge. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, June VanWinkle and son, Leslie VanWinkle. In addition to his wife, Patricia VanWinkle, Jim is survived by his son, John Grace and his wife, Rosanne; daughters, Pam Alexander and her husband, James, and Greer Vaughn and her husband, Farris; daughter-in-law, Rebecca VanWinkle; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry VanWinkle; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Cullum; and 2 nieces.
