FORT WORTH -- Janet Lysaght died peacefully Friday morning, Feb. 14, 2014. Ms. Lysaght was 77 years old. Service: 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, in Greenwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Carlye Hughes, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, officiating. Visitation: Family and friends will gather 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Robertson Mueller Harper. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to a charity of choice, in her memory, is suggested. Born in Fort Worth on Sept. 2, 1936, Janet was the daughter of Edward Harrison and Carol Zimmerman Lysaght. She attended Alice Carlson Elementary School and McLean Junior High School. The summer prior to beginning seventh grade, Janet contracted polio and spent many months rehabilitating in Warm Springs, Ga. She returned to Fort Worth and although life was now to be in a wheelchair, she went on to complete her education at R.L. Paschal High School. She graduated from Texas Christian University where she received both her bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics. Upon completion of her education, Janet taught in the Math Department at TCU for 21 years before retiring. She thoroughly researched her family tree and made records for each set of relatives. Though her physical life was limited, she loved life. She adored her friends, enjoyed playing bridge and cooking. She loved the Yankees and the Lakers, and the stock market! Meticulously recording her favorite movies and music, she could find any one disc at a moment's notice. The family would like to give a special thank-you to Dr. Shirley Molenich and her caregivers, Ann Hayes and Charlene Simpson. Janet was an inspiration to all who knew her. Survivors: Janet is survived by many out-of-town cousins and an abundance of new and lifelong friends.
