JAN HERNDON

FORT WORTH -- Jan Stephens Herndon passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, July 1, 2013, during her 62nd year, after a long battle with cancer. Memorial service: Friends will gather at 6:30 p.m. Saturday to celebrate Jan's life at the home of Holly Ragan, 3904 Tamworth Road, Fort Worth. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the SPCA, in her memory, is suggested. Born in Fort Worth on July 31, 1950, Jan graduated from Arlington Heights High School. She was surrounded all her life by friends who loved and cherished her for her optimism, wicked sense of humor and generosity. Jan never had a bad day; she lived her life in gratitude for her blessings, and loved to laugh and have fun. She was one of a kind, and her many friends have used different words like fearless, innocent, confident and uninhibited to describe her. There are some missing links in her story though; her friends will have to wait to hear the story from Jan in heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise and Ollie Stephens.
