JAMES MORTON "Jim" WARE

January 5, 1948 — January 6, 2024

Jim was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas on January 5, 1948, to parents, Morton Gause Ware and Margaret Agnes Guleke Ware.  He was the middle child of five in the household.  He attended Fort Worth schools, graduating from Arlington Heights High school in 1966.  He then went on to Texas Christian University and graduated in 1971 from the M. J. Neeley School of Business, with a bachelor’s degree in science.  Jim was a lifelong fan of TCU.

Being born to a Fort Worth Pioneering Family and as a fifth generation of the Gause Ware Funeral Homes he grew up working in the Family businesses.  Included in the businesses was Ed C. Smith and Brothers Funeral Home in Dallas and Family Security Insurance Companies of America located in Cities all over Texas.

Jim’s passion in life was trucks, with a dream to one day own his own Transportation Company.  He fulfilled his life’s dream, since boyhood when he opened WareXpress Trucking and WareXpress Transportation Companies.  He had his happiest days there watching his big red and gold trimmed trucks come in and out of the yard after coming and going to cities all over the United States.

Jim and Kathy moved to Granbury and have lived there for 19 years.  He worked around trucks when the oil and gas boom hit the Granbury area.  He worked long hard days up and down the wells in spots all over the Texas area.  His health began to fail, and he had to retire.

Jim met his sweetheart, Kathy Bell, while at Arlington Heights and she was a Paschal High School girl.  The schools were bitter rivals historically, but they forged on and wed in 1967 as soon as she graduated from school.  The couple have been together for 59 years and married for 57 years.

Jim was a loving husband and a loving father to their two children.  He leaves behind, but stays in all their hearts;  His devoted wife, Kathleen Bell Ware, His precious daughter, (Missy) Melissa Ann Ware Krippel and his loving Son-in-Law, Jeffrey Joseph Krippel and Jim’s precious son, John Morton Ware II and his dear wife, Kelly Ann Landers Ware.

Jim’s Grandchildren have a special place in his heart, Kathleen Margaret Krippel Walsh and her husband Matthew Jonathon Walsh.   Kameron Joseph Krippel and his special friend, Sydney Ryan Tittle.  John Morton Ware III (Trey) and his wife Alexa Loa Ware.  Chandler Bell Ware.  Jim was fortunate to be with his two beautiful Great Grand Daughters, ages 4 and 2, Layla Bell Ware and Ellington Ware.  His adoring puppy, Bell.

Jim’s sisters, Mary Jane Ware Howe of San Antonio and Margaret Ann Ware Wendell of Dallas.  Jim’s sister-in-law, Barbara Bell Nemitz and her husband, Kirk Nemitz.  His many cousins, nieces, nephews and his many special neighbors and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by, his parents, Morton and Dolly Ware and two brothers, George Gause Ware and Robert Guleke Ware.

Jim lived a full life and now he is at peace in Paradise.  Jim has been ill for 20 years.  He passed away peacefully after complications of a stroke with his family all around him, with love.
