FORT WORTH -- James Jason "Jim" Ankele died early Thursday morning, Nov. 14, 2014. Mr. Ankele was 69 years old. In accordance with Jim's wishes, no service will be held. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to Cook Children's Medical Center, 801 Seventh Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76104, is his memory, is suggested. Born Jan. 29, 1945, in Amarillo, Jim was the son of Bertha Wilson and George J. Ankele Jr. After moving to Fort Worth, he was a 1963 graduate of Arlington Heights High School and attended UTA on a basketball scholarship. Jim worked in the electrical supply business for 42 years. Always having an appreciation for art and history, he was an avid collector of memorabilia. He was predeceased by his parents and stepmother, Lucille Boswell Ankele. Survivors: In addition to his son, Jason Ankele and wife, Cindy of Alexandria, Va., Jim is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Roberts of Sulphur Springs and Lindsey Fournie and husband, Michael, of Dubai, United Arab Emirates; grandchildren Aubrey, Evie, Matthew, Mark, Henry and Juliette; aunt, Patricia Brown of Fort Worth; and cousins and their families.
