FORT WORTH -- Jack Levinson passed away Tuesday evening, March 29, 2016. Mr. Levinson had just turned 89 years old. Service: Following a committal service at 10 a.m. Monday in Greenwood Memorial Park, a memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Marty Leonard Community Chapel on the Lena Pope Campus, 3131 Sanguinet St., followed by a reception at the Amon Carter Center, also on the Lena Pope Campus. Born in Fort Worth on March 23, 1927, Jack was the youngest of three children of Harry and Mary Schuster Levinson. He graduated from R.L. Paschal High School and attended TCU on a tennis scholarship, graduating in 1950. Jack began playing tennis as a young boy at Capps Park in Fort Worth and was a lifelong tennis enthusiast and supporter, having served as president of the Fort Worth Tennis Association. After graduating from TCU, Jack began a long, successful career at Metropolitan Life Insurance, where he served his clients and friends for almost 50 years. Those who were friends or family of Jack always knew that he was not only someone you could trust but someone that you could count on no matter what. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his brother, Irving, and his loving sister, Rosalie Levinson Vance. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Diana of Fort Worth, Jack is survived by his son, Laurence and wife, Maureen, of Los Angeles, Calif.; grandchildren, Grace and Shannon; stepdaughter, Diane Oliver and husband, Paul, of Fort Worth; stepgrandchildren, Lori Henson, Julie Woodside Reeb and Krissy Camp; nieces, Jody Gatewood and Rosalind Royal; Diana's children, Melissa Conkle and Darin Mosley; along with her three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly.
