FORT WORTH -- Henrietta Greenberg Krumholz passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015. Her daughter, Rozanne, and son-in-law, Billy Rosenthal, were at her bedside. Mrs. Krumholz was 96 years old. Service: A service at the grave was held Thursday in Shearith Israel Cemetery, Wharton. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to a charity of choice, in her memory, is suggested. Henrietta was born Aug. 10, 1919, in Richmond, the daughter of Aaron and Minnie Rich Greenberg. Henrietta and David, her husband of 67 glorious years, raised their four children in Bay City and were members of Congregation Shearith Israel in Wharton. Henrietta was a lifetime member of the Wharton Chapter of Hadassah. She served on the local board of Hadassah as well as serving as regional vice president for a number of years. She was a graduate of Texas Woman's University in Denton. Recreation was her passion. She taught at the University of Oklahoma in Norman and at Florida State College, which is now the University of Florida. She was "loaned" to the city of Tallahassee, Fla., where she organized a city recreation program. She appeared before the Texas State Lions Club board and presented the idea for the creation of the Lions' Crippled Children's Camp. She worked tirelessly for children with special needs in Bay City. She served on the Bay City school board for nine years and was voted Outstanding Citizen twice. She was on the board of the Matagorda Historical Society. She worked for the conservation and beautification of Matagorda Beach. Best known as "The Shell Lady of Matagorda Beach," Henrietta loved Bay City and Matagorda Beach and each of their respective inhabitants with all of her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David; sister; Helen Kasman; and brother, Milton Greenberg. Survivors: Henrietta is survived by her children, Karl Krumholz and his husband, Dick Limoges, of Philadelphia, Pa., Rozanne and Billy Rosenthal of Fort Worth, Richard and Betty Krumholz of Galveston and Pearl and Marc Kudisch of Houston. She was the grandmother of Ben and Madolin Rosenthal and Ashli and Todd Blumenfeld of Fort Worth, Madelyn Rosenthal of Houston, Taylor Krumholz of Galveston, Chase Krumholz of Griggs, Idaho, Max Kudisch of Berkeley, Calif., and Stephanie Kudisch of Portland, Oregon; and great-grandmother of Elanor Blumenfeld, age 4, Will Blumenfeld, age 1, and Hank Rosenthal, three months.
