FORT WORTH -- Helen Pelham Lewis left this life peacefully Saturday evening, Sept. 14, 2013. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Leonard Memorial Chapel at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, 800 W. Fifth St. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the First Street Mission at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth or Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, in her memory, is suggested. Born in Anniston, Ala., Helen was the daughter of O.W. and Helen Love Pelham, she was educated in Houston. While attending SMU, Helen met the love of her life, Floyd "Brownie" Lewis. They were married for 38 years and raised two daughters. Together, they enjoyed traveling, dancing, and especially football. Helen's creative spirit sought beauty in many forms. She enjoyed the discipline of yoga and spending time in her garden. One of her true joys was helping children discover the beauty and symmetry of nature. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors: In addition to her daughters, Linda Billman and her husband, Hank, of Fort Worth and Barbara Strayhorn and her husband, Doug, of Burleson, Helen is survived by grandchildren, Blake Billman and his wife, Melissa of Austin, Rachel Munsch of Baton Rouge, La., and Robert Strayhorn of College Station; great- grandson, Parker Billman; brother, O.W.
