FORT WORTH – Harold H Goldstein passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, July 12, 2017. He was 93. Service: Military Honors will be given privately in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to a veteran’s organization, in his memory, is suggested. Born Aug. 20, 1923 in Peabody, Mass., Harold was the eldest son of Nathan and Mary Finkelstein Goldstein, who emigrated from Russia. He served in the U. S. Army Intelligence Service as a translator in the Asiatic Pacific during World War II, translating Japanese into English as well as interpreting idiomatic expressions. He attended The Citadel in South Carolina and graduated with a B.A. from the University of Miami. Harold considered his greatest achievement in life to be his family and friends. He retired from a career in marketing and sales in the plastic industry. A member of the “Magnolia Mafia” exercise group and an avid golfer, Harold was a longtime member of Ridglea Country Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Samuel. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Eileen, Harold is survived by his son, Mark; and cousin, Ann Palevsky of Montreal, Canada.
