Gary Lin Grubbs passed away peacefully at his home Thursday morning, May 24, 2012, during his 58th year. Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday in Kornbleet Memorial Chapel, Ahavath Sholom Cemetery, 411 N. University Drive. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to Community Hospice of Texas, 6100 Western Place, Suite 500, Fort Worth, Texas 76107, in Gary's memory, is suggested. Born Oct. 6, 1953, in Frankfort, Ky., Gary was the oldest son of Lincoln and Betty Jean Chisholm Grubbs. He was a graduate of Henry County High School. A "Kentucky Colonel," he graduated from Western Kentucky University at Bowling Green. Gary was a member of the National Society Sons of the American Revolution and a member of Congregation Ahavath Sholom in Fort Worth. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors: In addition to his nine children, Nora Grubbs Carlin and Mark, Josiah Grubbs, Hannah Grubbs, Micah Grubbs, Leah Grubbs, Caleb Grubbs and Jesse Grubbs, all of Fort Worth, Jacob Grubbs of Long Beach, Calif., and Jedidiah Grubbs of Austin, Gary is survived by his granddaughter, Deliliah; mother, Betty Jean Chisholm Grubbs of Alamo; sister, Karen Grubbs Woodward of Edgewood, Ky.; and brother, David Grubbs of Ballardsville, Ky.
