FORT WORTH -- Frances Hackney Sutton passed away peacefully Saturday evening, Feb. 27, 2016. Service: A Memorial Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at All Saints Episcopal Church, 5001 Crestline Road. Her cremated remains will be placed on the McCart-Hackney family plot in Oakwood Cemetery. Born in Fort Worth, Frances was the daughter of T.E.D. and Fannie Belle McCart Hackney. McCart Ave. was named for her grandfather, Robert McCart; her father developed the Arlington Heights area in Fort Worth. Frances graduated from Arlington Heights High School and attended Hockaday School in Dallas before graduating from the University of Texas at Austin. She was married to Preston Nash; the couple had two children, Warren and Andrea. While Preston attended medical school, Frances taught third grade. In 1981, she married Donald Sutton, together they traveled the world for 30 years. Frances was a Steeplechase debutante, a member of the Fort Worth Garden Club, Lecture Foundation, Junior League Sustainers and the Tarrant County Historical Society. She served on the board of Oakwood Cemetery and was a former member of Ridglea and Rivercrest country clubs. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Robert, Ted and Johnny, who adored her. Survivors: In addition to her husband of 37 years, Donald, Frances is survived by her children and two grandchildren.
