Born in Dallas on July 30, 1929, Jean was the daughter of Bea and Morris Leiman. She was a graduate of North Dallas High School. In 1948 Jean married the love of her life, Sam Sturman, with whom she shared her life, had a family and enjoyed many adventures and world travels until his death in 2002. Together, Jean and Sam opened and built a successful family business, Fixture Exchange Corp., which has been in business over 50 years and is still run today by their sons. While raising four boys, Jean was an active volunteer in PTA, a den mother for Cub Scouts and also an advisor for BBYO - Zezmer & Wadel. She was a member and president of Blue Bonnet B'nai B'rith Women, active in Hadassah, Jewish War Veterans, Tiferet Israel's Sisterhood, and Jewish Family Service-Dallas, to name a few. One of her proudest moments was becoming the first female president of Tiferet Israel Congregation where her husband, Sam, had also served as president. Jean adored being a mother, mother-in-law and "Bubbie," and was always quick to brag on what she referred to as her "motley crew." In addition to her love of books, Jean enjoyed most any game, especially cards (Pan being one of her favorites) and mah jong. She was always up to a visit to the casino whether in Vegas or Oklahoma. Her wisdom, quick wit and loving sarcasm along with her ability to tell a good joke will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her grandson, Blake Sturman. Survivors: She has left many memories with those who survive her, sons and their wives, Steve and Lisa Sturman of Joshua, Scott and Marla Sturman of Henderson, Nev., David and Donalda Sturman and Daniel and LaJean Sturman of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Jonathan and Tiffany Sturman of Hong Kong and their children, Ella and Gavin, Chanah and Glenn Greene and their daughters, Makenzie and Harper, Shayna Sturman, Sarah and Nate Brossman and their daughter, Hadley, Bradley Sturman and fiancee, Lori Katz, Katie and Casey Graves and their daughters, Kamdyn and Kori, Brent and Lanie Sturman, and William Sturman, all of Fort Worth; brother and his wife, Ted and Anne Leiman; sister, Charlotte Webberman; brother-in-law and his wife, Milton and Sarah Sturman; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and their families.
