FORT WORTH -- Ethel Friedman Minker passed away peacefully Monday evening, Dec. 14, 2015. Mrs. Minker was 94 years old. Service: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Beth-El Section of Greenwood Memorial Park. Following the committal service, the family will receive friends at Beth-El Congregation with minyan services beginning at 5:30 p.m. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the James L. West Alzheimer's Center, 1111 Summit Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76102; or Beth-El Congregation, 4900 Briarhaven Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76109, in her memory, is suggested. Born March 1, 1921, in Pottsville, Pa., Ethel was the daughter of Abe and Sarah Friedman. No one loved a party more than Ethel. She was loved by all who knew her and one might say there was only "one Ethel." She moved to Fort Worth in July 2010 to be closer to her family and resided at the James L. West Alzheimer's Center until her passing. The family is grateful for the loving care given to her by Lady Chance, along with the care givers of the James L. West Center. Ethel will be missed by all those whose lives she has touched. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elwood Minker, who died April 15, 1986; her sister and her husband, Sophie and Milt Diamond; and her brothers, Bernard Friedman and his wife, Betty, and Louis "Doc" Friedman. Survivors: Ethel is survived by her children, Richard and his wife, Carol,of Fort Worth, and daughter, Linda, and her husband, Lawrence, of Burlington, Mass.; grandchildren, Melissa Miller and her husband, Matthew, of Alexandria, Va., Scott Minker and his wife, Tracy, of Los Angeles, Calif., Matthew Abramson and his wife, Caitlin, of Chicago, Ill., and Jennifer Abramson of Somerville, Mass. In addition she was blessed with five great-grandchildren, Jacob and Claire Miller, Ethan and Ainsley Minker and Rose Ellen Abramson.
