FORT WORTH -- Edward Graham Davis, a beloved son, father and grandfather, passed from this life Thursday evening, Feb. 6, 2014. He was 92 years old. Service: A celebration of Ed's life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Davis Chapel of the Intercession at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth, 1000 Penn St., where Ed was a longtime member. The Rev. Robyn Michalove will officiate. Family and friends will gather in the church's Parlor immediately following the service. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to Presbyterian Night Shelter, Box 2645, Fort Worth, Texas 76113, pns-tc.org, or Happy Hill Farm, 3846 N. Highway 144, Granbury, Texas 76048, happyhillfarm.org, in his memory, is suggested. Born in Minden, La., on June 11, 1921, Ed was the son of Lawson Edward and Ruth Stewart Davis. He was a graduate of Minden High School and attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La., until the outbreak of World War II. He volunteered to serve in the Army Air Corps initially at Barksdale Field in Bossier City, La., and was transferred to Fort Worth with the opening of Fort Worth Army Air Field, which became Carswell Air Force Base. Ed met and married Francis Mitchell of Everman in July 1944. Their children are Diane and Edward. The Davis family lived in Fort Worth where Ed was employed at the Tarrant County Tax Assessor & Collector's Office. After working for Leonard Properties, he worked in the real estate industry as a real estate broker and an industrial leasing agent and property manager. Following the death of his first wife, Ed married Anne Elizabeth Townsend of Austin in December 1955. The children from his second marriage are Thomas and Margaret. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives and a sister, Elnora Quade. Survivors: In addition to his children, Diane Readinger and her husband, James Readinger, M.D., of Fort Worth, Edward G. Davis Jr. and his wife, Suzanne, of Houston, Thomas T. Davis and his wife, Leslie, of Dallas and Margaret Lauderback and her husband, Bill, of Austin, Ed is survived by his grandchildren, Robert Readinger, M.D., Tricia Schniederjan, Amy Northcutt, Edward Graham Davis III, Ashley Tilly, Anne Elizabeth Davis, Adrienne Davis and Madison Lauderback; and 11 great-grandchildren.
