FORT WORTH – Douglas Richard Perrin claimed the promise of his baptism Thursday afternoon, August 23, 2018. He was 71. MEMORIAL SERVICE: A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3621 Tulsa Way. Family and friends will gather in the church’s Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the Trinity Lutheran Church Generation to Generation Fund, the church’s Children’s Center, the Presbyterian Night Shelter, P. O. Box 2645, Fort Worth, TX 76133, or a charity of choice, in his memory, in his memory, is suggested. Born September 15, 1946 in Barre, Vermont, Doug was the son of George and Lois Perrin. He graduated from high school in Barre before completing a B.S. and M.S. in engineering from the University of Vermont (UVM). While at UVM, he was in the Army ROTC and met his future wife, Linda Brammer, on a blind date. Doug worked for the Vermont Highway Department in bridge design before joining the Army Corps of Engineers in Fort Worth in 1974. He became Deputy Chief, Operations District, and Chief, Technical Support Branch Operations Division before retiring in 2013. He coached his sons’ soccer teams and enjoyed youth ministry. Doug was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the NTNL Synod of the ELCA. He was also a volunteer at the Presbyterian Night Shelter. SURVIVORS: In addition to his wife, Linda, Doug is survived by his sons, Stephen and Kelly and their children, David and Charlotte, and James and Kent; brother, Allen Perrin and his wife, Margy, of Toccoa, Georgia; nephews and cousins and their families; and several well-loved “borrowed” grandchildren.
