University Drive, with the Rev. Larry Thomas officiating. Immediately following the service, family and friends will gather in the church's Gallery area. Dorothy will be laid to rest privately next to her husband, David, in Restland Memorial Park, Dallas. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the Humane Society of North Texas, University Christian Church or to a charity of one's choice, in her memory, is suggested. Born in Corsicana on Nov. 21, 1923, Dorothy was the daughter of Louis M. and Hettie Elizabeth Coggins Marshall. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas where she met her husband, David Small. They both attended the University of Texas at Austin before moving to Galveston for David to attend medical school. Their first child, Janet, was born in Wichita Falls where David was doing his residency. The family finally settled in Fort Worth where Dr. Small set up practice and their second child, Cindy, was born. Dorothy worked for several years in different departments at TCU after the death of her husband in 1972. She loved being a homemaker and mother and always having a house full of kids, family and friends. She enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, playing golf and was an avid reader. She was a Camp Fire leader for both daughters and active in their PTA's. She was a member of the Woman's Club of Fort Worth, Canwick, the Tarrant County Medical Auxiliary and a 50-plus year member of University Christian Church. Her memberships also included Colonial Country Club, where she was active in the Ladies Golf Association, the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth and Shady Oaks Country Club. Her family would like to thank Dr. Allan Kelly and Dr. Mark Redrow and their staffs for the care and kindness during her illness. Their appreciation and love is also shown to Gracie Lenear for all her many years of companionship and love given to Dorothy. Survivors: In addition to her daughters, Janet Small and Cindy Small Hoover, Dorothy is survived by her son-in-law, Norman; many nieces and nephews and their families; and granddogs, Jack and Tandy.
