FORT WORTH -- Dorothy Belle Garner Duvall died peacefully Christmas morning 2012 early in her 92nd year. Service: 2 p.m. Saturday in Evergreen Cemetery, Paris. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to a charity of one's choice, in her memory, is suggested. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Dec. 4, 1920, Dorothy was the daughter of Joseph and Marian Garner. She was a graduate of Arlington Heights High School, in the first class at the "new" building, and Texas Christian University. Dorothy was a 64-year member of Broadway Baptist Church. She spent 26 years with the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development. After retiring from HUD, she did underwriting for Express and Judith Smith mortgage companies. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Hank Duvall; son-in-law, Tom Gillies; brother, Bill Garner; and Henry Duvall. Survivors: In addition to her daughter, Benita Gillies, Dorothy is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mara Duvall; grandsons, Robert and Patrick Gillies; and several cousins.
