GRANBURY -- Donna Jean Green, an incredible wife, registered nurse and mother of three, passed away after a long illness Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Donna was 53 years old. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, in the Leonard Memorial Chapel at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, 800 W. Fifth St., followed by a reception in the church's Wesley Hall. Because Donna loved bright colors and happy gatherings, friends are invited to remember her by wearing a favorite color on the 12th. Born Nov. 16, 1962 in Parma, Ohio, Donna was the youngest of five children of Francis Irwin "Fran" and June Holford. The family moved to Fairfield, Conn., before moving to Arlington where Donna graduated from Lamar High School. She then enrolled in nursing school, becoming a licensed vocational nurse. During the next years, she married and began a family of her own. Donna enjoyed working as a clinical nurse in Arlington before moving to Cleburne with her family. After divorcing, she practiced in the home health care setting while caring for her children. Donna received an associate's degree in nursing from Excelsior College in 2002 and became a registered nurse. She worked at Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital where she excelled in quality care for her patients, making numerous friends among her peers, physicians and staff members. There she met Sean Green, forging a wonderful working friendship and mutual professional admiration. Eventually, Donna and Sean fell in love and were married. Donna's greatest enjoyments were listening to a variety of music, singing and movies. She loved poetry and readings that inspired the human spirit. She was often the center of attention at gatherings of family and friends, sharing wonderful stories that were filled with laughter. As people often reflected, "her laughter was contagious" and "she never knew a stranger." She loved watching her son Tyler play in an array of sports, and was always proud of his many accomplishments. Courtney was "Momma's Baby Girl," and she was proud to help her become the loving, caring young woman that she is today. She was equally proud of her son Lee, her "Angel," and his continued accomplishments in school, as well as the fine young man he is today. Though her illness did not allow her to remain in the workforce in her final years, Donna maintained her licensure as a nurse until the end. She took great pride in her profession, an expression of her genuine love and concern for people. The family gives special thanks to her physicians and the staff of Baylor All Saints Hospital, as well as the care provided by Klarus Home Care, Fort Worth. Donna was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors: In addition to her loving husband, Sean, Donna is survived by her children, Courtney and her husband, Britt Beam, Tyler Dixson and his girlfriend, Lindsey Miller, and Lee Williams; parents-in-law Subie and Phil Green; sisters and their husbands, Cathy and Andre Bourgoin and Sharon and Glen Butler; brothers and their wives, Bill and Antoinette Holford and Jack and Debbie Holford; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be dearly missed by all.
