Mrs. CATHERINE IRENE GARDINER BURKE

FORT WORTH -- Catherine Irene Gardiner Burke, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, Oct. 22, 2015. Mrs. Burke was 93 years old. Service: Following an 11 a.m. Monday service at the grave in Laurel Land Memorial Park, she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Raymond, who died in 1983. Family and friends will gather from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday in the Great Room at Robertson Mueller Harper. Born in Stillwater, Okla. on July 31, 1922, Catherine was the daughter of Robert Edward and Cybil Irene Stewart Gardiner. As a small child, the family moved to Fort Worth in 1925. Catherine graduated from R. L. Paschal High School in 1940 before attending N.T.A.C., now the University of Texas at Arlington. Following Raymond's service in the U. S. Army, the family returned to Fort Worth where Catherine as a longtime member of Meadowbrook United Methodist Church. Survivors: Catherine is survived by her children, Bob and Rhonda of Bixby, Okla., Bill and Kathryn of McKinney, and Jim and Holly of Joshua; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
