Mrs. CAROLE RICHARDS PIERCE ALLEN

FORT WORTH -- Carole Richards Pierce Allen, 68, started her next journey on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, surrounded by her family and friends. Celebration of life: 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Marty Leonard Community Chapel, 3131 Sanguinet St. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, Carole requested donations to Doctors without Borders, Community Hospice of Texas or Planned Parenthood. Carole was born Sept. 14, 1947, in Fort Worth to M.L. and Nora Richards. She graduated from R.L. Paschal High School in l965. During that stage of her life, school was not her top priority; therefore she had the time of her life (so she thought) doing everything but studying. She did, however, finally grow up and some 10 years later graduated from TCU with a B.A. degree. Carole was grateful for many things, her family being at the top of her list. She was so proud of her daughter, Jordan, and her son, Cap. They were the sunshine in her life. On July 19, 2015, Jordan gave her another gift, a grandson, Jonathan Miles Palmer. Carole felt great sadness knowing she was not going to see Miles as he grows into a wonderful young man. She will miss them all so much. Carole loved and appreciated her husband, John. She was grateful for his relationship with her children. He has always been their friend as well as their mentor. He loves them as they love him. During the hot days of Texas summer, Carole loved traveling to their cabin in Big Bay, Mich., and making many new friends there. She loved hiking, playing tennis and she loved game nights. She loved to win, but out of need, had as much fun losing! She was competitive, but no game could be taken too seriously. Seriousness took the fun out of winning or losing. Carole's life was filled with Fort Worth friends from an early age and never ending. Each and everyone had a place in her heart. Last but not least she will miss her Hamilton friends and fantastic book club there. She was thankful for Dr. Lohrey, her oncologist, his nurse, Marie, and his staff. She was also thankful for her traveling friend, Sally, who was by her side throughout her whole ordeal to the very end. Survivors: Husband, John Allen; her daughter, Jordan Pierce Palmer and husband, Jonathan; her son, C. Anderson Pierce "Cap"; her grandson, Jonathan Miles Palmer; sister, Cheryl Richards Mangum and husband, Mike; her many nieces and nephews who always made her laugh; her world of friends, who along with her family, have been her strength. "If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever." Winnie the Pooh.
